Allie Mae Lucas' Obituary
Allie Mae Lucas, affectionately known as Mae Mae, age 96 of Jackson, MS, entered eternal rest on July 17, 2025. Born on April 7, 1929, in Gilbert, LA, she was the treasured oldest daughter of the late Willie Lucas, Sr. and Rosie Lee Caston Lucas. After her mother's early passing, Allie Mae was lovingly reared by Ora Lee Wesley Harden Lucas, a nurturing presence who became a second mother to her.
Allie Mae was preceded in death by her parents and her siblings Leonard Lucas, Willie Lucas, Jr. (survived by Lacy), Thomas Lucas, Sr. (survived by Rose), Jimmie Lucas, Doris Lucas Allen Dye, Flossie Harden Grant, Hedy Harden Bohannon, Louis Harden, Margirea Lucas Adams, and Reaber Lucas.
As the eldest of fifteen siblings, Allie Mae was a pillar of strength and wisdom. She lived out Proverbs 31 - clothed in strength and dignity, always giving freely to those in need. Her early days were filled with joyful purpose as she enjoyed quilting, tending to gardens, and bringing delight to others through acts of generosity.
Allie Mae's walk with the Lord was steadfast and true. She was a faithful member of Christian Triumph M. B. Church in Morton, MS for many years under the leadership of the late Rev. A. L. https://Jackson.When she relocated to Jackson, MS, she joined New Hope Baptist Church, pastored by Rev. Dr. Jerry Young. She was a faithful and devoted member for more than 40 years.
Though she did not bear children of her own, Allie Mae embraced a ministry of love and care that touched generations. She was a guiding hand, a steady comfort, and a motherly figure to many raising and shaping young hearts with gentle wisdom and joy. She made her home with the family of her youngest sister and brother-in-law, Florene (Lucas) and Jerry Jerdine. Within that loving household, she helped rear their daughters, Wakeela and Jermeika, along with her nephew Carl David Lucas. She leaves to celebrate her life and beautiful memories created: Wakeela Jerdine (Dexter) Jones of Dacula, GA, Jermeika Jerdine Burks of Madison, MS and Carl David Lucas of Alexandria, VA, along with a host of special nieces, nephews and extended family throughout the United States.
Allie Mae also leaves to cherish her memory, her siblings: Florene Lucas (Jerry) Jerdine, Carl (Janice) Lucas, Kathern Lucas, all of Jackson, MS; and Perley Roy (Robyn) Lucas of Morgan, UT; as well as those she lovingly embraced as if they were her own grandchildren: Deja & her daughter Serenity, Kamryn, and Donovan Jones of Dacula, GA; Elijah, Gianna, and Mason Lucas of Alexandria, VA; and Maliya and Jamison Burks of Madison, MS.
Allie Mae's life was a living testimony to God's love, and her memory will continue to shine in the hearts of those she touched. Her legacy endures in every soul she uplifted and every seed of faith she helped plant. Her journey is complete, and now she rests in glory, welcomed into her heavenly home where "God shall wipe away all tears" (Revelation 21:4).
