Betty M. Booker's Obituary
A beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend, Betty passed away peacefully on August 19, 2025, at the age of 76. Surrounded by her family, they celebrated her warmth, wisdom, and unwavering love.
Born on June 4, 1949, in Jackson, Mississippi to the late Julious Martin, Sr. and Willie Thelma Martin. Betty grew up with a deep appreciation for family, community, and the simple joys of life. She carried these values with her throughout the years, touching countless lives with her kindness and generosity. Always with a smile she had a smart or witty response to anything that was spoken to her. Whenever she was affectionally told ("I love you") her response was "I love you more."
Betty was an active member of Covenant Methodist Church in Smyrna, GA. She found joy in serving in the nursery. Betty also enjoyed playing dominoes, spending time with her family and friends, and going to the beach.
Above all, Betty treasured her family. She was a source of strength and love, always ready with a warm smile, a listening ear, or a comforting embrace. Her legacy of love, faith, and resilience will continue to inspire those who knew her.
Betty leaves to cherish her memories: two daughters, Felicia (Danny) Robinson, Smyrna, Georgia; Sonia Booker Anderson, Smyrna, Georgia; three grandchildren, Danny (DJ)Robinson, II, DeAirah (DeAndre) Watkins, Simon Bernard Anderson, one great-granddaughter, Kaia Robinson (and her mother Tiara Martin), all reside in Smyrna, Georgia, her siblings, Hazel (Aubrey) Willacy; Dorothy Portis; Barbara (Edward) Blackmon; Eunice (Jimmy) McCann; Julius (Jacqueline) Martin, Jr. and Stella Martin, her sister-in-law. Betty also leaves to mourn her passing a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends who loved her dearly.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the National Heart Association in her memory.
