Byron Keith Johnson Sr.'s Obituary
Byron Keith Johnson was born on August 28, 1971, in Jackson, Mississippi, to Eddie and Marian Johnson. He grew up with his siblings, Anthony and Cassandra, in a loving and supportive family. Byron attended Callaway High School and APAC (Academic Performing Arts Complex) in which he excelled in art and academics. Byron was a member of the Callaway High School Band. Byron was musically gifted. He skillfully mastered playing the saxophone, piano, and guitar. He later earned a bachelor's degree in Fine Arts from the University of Southern Mississippi and a master's degree in Graphic Design from Mississippi College.
Byron dedicated his life to God at an early age. Byron's faith was central to his life, guiding him through both triumphs and challenges. He spoke openly and faithfully about God's impact on his life, so much so that his students often asked if he was a pastor. Byron was a devoted member of The Life Church in Eads, Tennessee.
Byron devoted 29 years of his life to teaching art to students in grades K-12. He also started his own art business called Designs by Raven in which he renamed to Designs by Byron. Byron was also a member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Incorporated. He joined the Nu Eta Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity while attending the University of Southern Mississippi.
In 1997, Byron married Anana Johnson, his true partner and love of his life. Together, they built a life filled with joy, adventure, and love. During their union, they welcomed their son, Byron Johnson Jr., who also shares his father's talent and love for art.

Byron's life was marked by love, joy, and service. He was a devoted son, caring brother, loyal friend, and loving husband. His radiant smile, contagious laugh and positive energy left a lasting impact on everyone he met. Byron's legacy is one of kindness, integrity, and a commitment to making the world a better place. His legacy also includes his artwork. Byron often spoke about how God anointed his hands to do the work that he did, and he felt guided by God to create art that would be remembered for a lifetime.
Byron is survived by his wife, Anana; his son, Byron Johnson, Jr.; his parents, Eddie and Marian; his siblings, Anthony and Cassandra; and many extended family members and friends. Though his time with us was short, his memory will be cherished forever.
