Cedrick "Toebaby" Walker was born on October 26, 1971, to his mother Evelyn Walker and Eddie Eugene Thompson. He was lovingly raised by his grandparents "Cowboy" and mama Dorothy and his mother Evelyn and his "Pops" Cecil Chatman who was the devoted father in his life.
"A Time to Grow"
Cedrick at an early age gave his life to Christ at White Oak M. B. Church. In his early adult life, he joined Mt. Charity M. B. Church. Cedrick would often worship at Prentiss First Missionary Baptist Church in Prentiss MS. Toebaby was a graduate of Callaway High School, Class of 1990. He also attended Jackson State University, Jackson, MS.

On May 16, 2009, Cedrick "Toebaby married Yeter Oatis.

Cedrick worked many years with his grandfather "Cowboy" in the business of cement laborer. Toebaby took pride in working in the family business. There were numerous work accolades that Cedrick was capable of completing due to him being a "Jack of All Trades". Toebaby will be remembered most for making people smile and enjoying life until his health failed.

Cedrick "Toebaby" was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents. Cedrick Walker, affectionately known as "TOEBABY", departed his life on Friday, February 27, 2026, at Pine Forest Health and Rehabilitation in Jackson, MS.
He leaves to cherish his precious memories; wife: Yetter Oatis; son: Cedrick Walker, Jr., (CJ); daughter: Genesis (Gen) Oatis; granddaughter: Syrenadi, all of Prentiss, MS; father: Cecil Chatman of Jackson, TN; eight siblings: Schelerria Walker of The Woodlands, TX; Keisha (Roland) Walker Cosey of Zion, IL; Linda Thompson of Madison, MS; Renetta (Johnny) Ford Martinez of Land O' Lakes, FL; Lillian Thompson Howtherse of San Jose, CA; Tommy Bell of Jackson, TN; Aaron (Bernadene) Channon of Zion, IL; Cedric Chavers of Columbia, SC; brother-in-law: Demetrius Oatis of Fayetteville, GA; sisters-in-law: Connie Saucier of Long Beach, CA; Starliss Oatis of Jonestown, GA; and Gina Oatis of Prentiss, MS; and a host of great aunts, great uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends. Cedric was deeply loved by Viola Robbins, who was like a mother to him his entire life and whose care and influence meant the world to him.
