Earl Maberry Jr.'s Obituary
Mr. Earl Maberry Jr, beloved son of the late Earl and Virginia Maberry Sr., was born on December 9, 1929, in Yazoo County, Mississippi. From a youthful age, Earl committed his life to Christ, embracing Him as his Lord and Savior. He first joined Union Paradise AME Church and later continued his faithful walk at New Bethel AME Church. There, he served humbly and diligently as a Steward, Usher, Trustee, a choir member, and in many other roles that supported the spiritual and day-to-day life of the church.
Earl was joined in holy matrimony to Herticene Course, a union rooted in love, faith, and mutual respect. Their marriage was a true partnership marked by quiet strength and shared values. Herticene stood by his side through life's many seasons.
To their union was born one daughter, Rhonda, who was always the light of Earl's life. The bond between Earl and Rhonda was truly special, one built on love, trust, and unwavering support. Earl was not just a father but a constant presence in Rhonda's life-her protector, encourager, and greatest fan. Whether offering advice, sharing stories from his youth, or simply being there with a listening ear, his love for his daughter was evident to all who knew him.
Earl's strong work ethic became a defining part of his life. He was employed with Desoto Furniture Company. After its closure, he continued to serve his community through roles at Day Detective Security and Vinson Security. Refusing to be discouraged by change, he launched Maberry Services, his own janitorial business, proudly serving several credit unions including Mississippi Credit Union Association where he worked for over 40 years. Earl also worked with Eagle Express Federal Credit Union. His drive and entrepreneurial spirit were a testament to his resilience and determination.
Family was everything to Earl. Known for checking in on his loved ones, he never hesitated to show up when someone was sick or in need. Whether it was a visit, a call, or a thoughtful gesture, Earl made sure those around him felt cared for. His generosity extended beyond his family as he actively participated in several Masonic organizations, continuing his legacy of service and brotherhood.
Earl Maberry Jr. lived a life of deep purpose, anchored in faith, committed to family, and driven by service. His legacy lives on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
Earl leaves to cherish his memory: wife, Herticene Maberry; one daughter, Rhonda Maberry Davis (Danny) of New Orleans, LA; brother, Calvin (Betty) Maberry St. of Flint, MI; sister-in-law, Earnestine Mabery of Jackson, MS; and a host of nieces and nephews, relatives, and friends.
Earl was preceded in death by his mother Virgina Jefferson Maberry; his father Earl Maberry, Sr.; five brothers, Major (Elizabeth) Maberry, Walter (Elizabeth) Maberry, Porter (Delores) Mabery Sr., Willie Albert Maberry, and Joseph (Laura) Maberry; three sisters, Ruth M.
