Ethel Mary Brown's Obituary
On August 28, 1949, Ethel Brown was born to Joshua Way Rudd and Eva Mae Lowery. She was one of four siblings. She accepted Christ in her life at a young age.
Ethel went to Hinds Community College where she received her associate degree in business. She was a devoted wife to Robert James Brown which gave birth to two children.
Over several years she would enter the workforce and take on jobs such as United Parcel Services (UPS), secretary, and finally a home maker.
She was a devoted member of St. Peter M.B. Church, where she participated in Sunday School, Vacation Bible School. She lived a private life but loved to bake cakes, brownies, cookies and other sweets for her family all the time. Mostly there was never a week that went by that a sweet tooth was not accommodated for family, friends and neighbors.
It was Wednesday January 21, 2026, when the Lord called His angel home. She was proceeded in death by both parents and one of her brothers. At 76 years old, Ethel lived to see a host of grandchildren and a great grandson before entering eternal rest. Our love and memories of her will remain forever.
She leaves to cherish her precious memories: husband, Robert James Brown; her sons, Robert Jerome Brown (Terri) of Jackson, MS, and Eric Brown (Lawanda) of Lewisburg, MS; 9 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild; siblings Sydney Smith and Paulette Johnson; and a host of nieces, nephews, close relatives, and family friends.
