Flordia Mae Davis' Obituary
Flordia was born February 20, 1928, to Elijah Stuckey and Carrie Bell Stuckey.
She was a member of Progressive Missionary Baptist Church where she served as a Deaconess, Mother and Church Secretary. She was baptized at an early age at Old Concord Baptist Church in Bentonia, MS.
Flordia attended Yazoo High School followed by Cosmetology School. She moved to Jackson in 1948 after her schooling and began her career as a self-employed cosmetologist, serving her community faithfully until her retirement in 2005.
Flordia was united in holy matrimony to Nemiah Davis, Sr., with whom two daughters, Bertha Willis and Glenda Davis, and two sons, Jason Davis and Nemiah Davis, Jr., were born.
Flordia was a devoted mother, sister, aunt, grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved her family and friends and helped anyone she could without question.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Nemiah Davis, Sr.; her father, Elijah Stuckey; her mother, Carrie Stuckey; six sisters, Nettie Burks, Lillie Stuckey, Mary Williams, Classie Stuckey, Ethel Williams, and Nancy Stuckey; three brothers, J.C. Stuckey, William Stuckey, and Joe Stuckey; two daughters, Bertha Willis and Glenda Davis; and two grandsons, Cedric Davis and Eric Tucker. F
Flordia left us abruptly on Thursday May 14, 2026. She leaves to cherish her memories: two sons, Jason Davis and Nemiah Davis, Jr.; four grandchildren, Sylena (Karl) Joseph, Shardai Willis, De’Andrea (Nina) Greenfield, and Morgan (Maurtice) Davis Mills; four great-grandchildren, Malia Knots, Katelyn Joseph, Koby Joseph, and Mason Mills; and a host of relatives and friends.
