Florence Jenkins Patterson's Obituary
Florence Jenkins Patterson was the oldest child born to Detroit Jenkins and Annie Mae Reed. She was educated in the Montgomery Training School where she received her high school diploma in 1959. She also received her cosmetology license from MS State Board of Cosmetology. She married Samuel Patterson in 1961 and to this union 2 children were born, Sonya and Keith Patterson.
Florence lived in Chicago for years before she relocated to Madison, MS.
Upon returning to Mississippi, she loved to bake cakes, and she was active in helping the elderly in her community. She was providing hair care services and any other services that the elderly may request. Not only was active in helping the elderly but she was also a help to her family and friends as well.
Florence was one of the strongest and kindest people you could meet. She was a true servant who took her duties seriously and made herself available as a resource for support and guidance until the end. If you were her friend then you were a friend for life, and you could have high confidence in her to be there for you no matter the circumstance.
She leaves to cherish her memories with her husband: Samuel Patterson, her son: Keith Patterson, her granddaughters: Angelica Lee and Keyonna Patterson, 4 sisters: Mable 'Sweetie' Jenkins, Minnie Reed, Hilda 'Tut' Walson and Annette Reed, 4 brothers: Lee 'Sunny' Reed, Michael Reed, Amos 'Red' Reed and Nelson Reed and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
