Jacqueline Marie Adams' Obituary
Jacqueline Marie Adams was born, October 27, 1951, in Jackson, Mississippi, to the late Garner and Wilhelmina Adams. Jackie accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Friendship Baptist Church, in Jackson, MS. Jackie transitioned to her heavenly home on Saturday, April 12, 2025, at 5:34 a.m., at The University of Mississippi Medical Center. She transitioned the same day as her great niece, KeVhana, who preceded her in death.
Jackie attended Brinkley High School before she began working at Beech Aerospace in the early 80's. A devoted employee who moved up in rank, Jackie worked for more than 30 years before retiring. She was a noted employee loved by all who encountered her bossy, yet loving ways.
Jackie faced many medical issues but never stopped loving and helping those around her. We all knew how much she loved her children; however, those grand and great grandkids tugged at her heart a little differently. You did not mess with them even if you were their parents. Jackie's house was the garden where ALL kids were nurtured and loved.
There are so many things one could say about our beloved Jackie but one thing for sure, we can all agree that she made the best dressing and banana pudding you ever had. In addition, she produced another favorite dish, her corn casserole. A lover of the kitchen and feeding whoever stopped by (no matter how she was feeling), Jackie would push through and cook for her family. She always demonstrated strength until her last day. In her last days, she would gaze out as if she was talking to the Angels who were there to greet her and take her to her forever resting place, a place where there is no pain, no needles (she hated to see the nurses come with that cart, saying "Oh God here they come again.") and a place with no medicine. Jackie was a loving soul; she loved and was loved by everybody that came on Revels Avenue. She was truly one of Virden Addition finest.
Jackie was preceded in death by her parents, Garner and Wilhelmina Adams; two brothers, Tommy Adams and Eddie Jones.
Jackie leaves, to cherish her memories, her two children, Sherman Adams (Kisha) and Vicki Adams-Gamble (Ali), both of Jackson Mississippi; five grandchildren, Sherman Jr, Ayanna, LaMarcus, Braylon and Keshun; four great-grandchildren, Savannah, Chloe, Alyssa and Raegan Marie; five siblings, Carrie "Lois" Clark (Sam, deceased), Willie "Bubba" Adams, Rodney "Gator "Adams (Shirley, deceased), Adolph "Roy" and Naomi; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family.
