James Washington was born on May 27, 1935, in Jackson, Mississippi to George Spurgeon Washington and Ruth Cousin Washington.
In 1957, James and Eare Marie Washington were married. From this union, five girls were born. He worked many years for Sperry Vickers (Eaton Industries). His greatest joys were being a father to five girls, being an avid pool player, and fishing.
His spirit will be remembered by; his four daughters Deborah A. Washington of Jackson, Mississippi, Evette S. Smith of Flowood, Mississippi, Charlotte D. Washington of Magnolia, Texas, and Barbara J. Thomas of Madison, Mississippi; five grandchildren, Jeconiah J. Washington, Sr., Ariel K.C. Thomas, Barachius C. Thomas (Sidney), Oswald L. Johnson, II, and Abi M. Thomas; eleven great grandchildren; one great-great granddaughter, Niyla White; one sister, George Ann Smith of St. Louis, Missouri; a host of nieces and nephews; and his church family, friends, and associates.
He is preceded in death by: his parents; one daughter, Kimbe Rene Washington who went to be with the Lord in 1999, and his brothers, Lawrence Washington, Clarence Moore, and Charleston Mason Washington; and one sister, Gertrude Cousin Trippeter.
