Kevin Theron Riley's Obituary
Kevin Theron Riley, the first of three sons, was born on November 14, 1970, in Detroit, Michigan, to Ollie Frank Riley and Doris Patterson Riley. Leaving behind a legacy of kindness, quiet strength and unwavering love for his family and community, Kevin departed this life on March 18, 2026. He is preceded in death by his father.
Kevin was raised with strong godly values that guided him throughout his life. He confessed faith in Jesus Christ as his personal savior.
The family relocated to Madison when Kevin was very young; he continued his elementary education in Madison and graduated from Madison Ridgeland High School with the Class of 1989. Driven by determination and a passion for learning, he attended Jackson State University, graduating with honors in 1993 with a degree in Computer Science. Also to his credit was the completion of two summer internships with IBM in Manassas, Viginia (1990 and 1991).
Professionally, Kevin contributed his skills and dedication while working at TransUnion. He later devoted over 20 years of faithful service to Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church, maintaining the church and ground as a welcoming place for worship and fellowship.
Kevin was a light to all who knew him. Although naturally reserved and quiet, he had a gentle spirit, a warm smile, and a heart that was truly genuine. He cherished his family and found joy in the simple moments spent with them.
Kevin is survived by his loving mother, Doris Riley; brothers, Aric (Shirley) Riley, and Minister Kerry (Angela) Riley; uncles, James Patterson, Samuel Patterson, and Willie Patterson; nieces and nephews; cousins; extended family and friends.
