ML Wilson's Obituary
A Time To Be Born
ML Wilson was born on June 19, 1945 in Hinds County to the late Walter Wilson and Alberteen Lovett-Wilson. He entered the world at home under the care of midwife Sadie Singleton.
A Time To Plant
At the age of ten, ML confessed his faith in Jesus Christ and joined the Good Hope Baptist Church. He began his education in the Madison County School System. During his school years, ML's father lost his sight, and at just sixteen years old, ML relocated to Bolton, Mississippi, to help care for his family. He purchased his first car, a 1957 model, and took great joy in driving his family wherever they needed to go. ML also had a deep love for gardening, tending the earth with patience and pride. He was united in marriage to Beatrice Jelks, and to this union five children were born. In 2004, ML retired from Englehard after thirty-five years of dedicated service.
A Time For Eternal Security
On Saturday, December 20, 2025, ML completed his earthly journey, fulfilling his purpose with grace and devotion. Though his passing brings sorrow, it is not the end, it is a homegoing. He now rests peacefully with those who went before him: his parents; his sister, Irene Hill; and his Grother, Walter Wilson.
A Wonderful Time to Remember
ML. leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife, Beatrice Jelks Wilson; his children: Alice Jelks, Kathleen (Tyrone) Pearson, Willie (Regina) Jelks, Loretta Jelks, and L.C. Jelks; his stepdaughter: Annie Oliver; his sisters: Alice Nichols and Essie Wilson.
He also leaves behind cherished grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends who will forever hold his memory close.
