Nancy Trimble Barnes' Obituary
Nancy Barnes was born on March 4th, 1929, in Tupelo, Mississippi, to the late Leona Allen Trimble and James "Jack" Trimble. She was the oldest of eleven children, a role she carried with strength, love, and guidance throughout her life.
She graduated from Carver High School and later moved to New Orleans, where she met and married the love of her life, Allen Barnes. To this union, one son, Allen Derrick Barnes, was born. Over the years, Nancy lived in Magnolia, Mississippi, with her family before finally making Jackson, Mississippi, their home.
Nancy was a dedicated and hardworking woman who devoted her life to caring for others. She worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), later serving as an assistant teacher with Jackson Public Schools, and eventually as a personal caregiver-roles that reflected her nurturing spirit and servant's heart.
She was a faithful woman of God and a longtime member of Word of Life Church. She later joined CrossRoads International House of Worship Church, where she remained spiritually connected and active.
Nancy was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Allen Barnes, and her son, Allen Derrick Barnes. She leaves to cherish her memory: her daughter-in-law, Thelma Jean Barnes; grandson, Derrick Allen Barnes I; great-grandson, Derrick Allen Barnes II; sisters, Laura Nell Trimble of Tupelo, Mississippi, and Beatrice Johnson of St. Louis, Missouri; spiritual God daughters, Pastor Jackie Bass (Wayne), Pastor Myra Bryant, and Lee Esther Butler; spiritual God sons, Pastor Harrison Reynolds (Linda), Harlen Cavett, and Ernest Ledbetter; A host of nieces, nephews ,and cousins; and spiritual family who will forever cherish her life and legacy.
