Orlando Sean Pittman's Obituary
Orlando, a brilliant soul and renowned worshipper, was born on August 15, 1970, in Memphis, Tennessee, to Curtis W. Pittman and the late Bettie D. Pittman. Affectionately known as "Rudy," he was the eldest of five children born to this union. A beacon of light, Orlando illuminated the lives of all who knew him. He departed this life peacefully on July 2, 2025, at the age of 54.
Rudy spent his early years in Memphis, Tennessee, and later moved to Jackson, Mississippi, where he grew up surrounded by his siblings and a loving church family.
Orlando accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior and was baptized into Christ at the Northwest Church of Christ under the ministry of his father, Bro. Curtis W. Pittman. His love for the Lord was evident in every note he sang—his voice was like no other, used faithfully to glorify God and uplift those around him.
He began his secondary education at Callaway High School and graduated from Murrah High School in 1989. He continued his studies at Hinds Community College and Magnolia Bible College, where he majored in Music. His gift of song and devotion to ministry left a lasting impression on all who heard him.
Kindness flowed through Rudy's veins. He touched countless lives through his unwavering faith, joyful spirit, and heartfelt singing. Known for his cool, laid-back demeanor and sharp sense of humor, Rudy had an infectious laugh and a knack for bringing joy wherever he went. Whether in person or online, his empathy and light resonated deeply with others.
Professionally, Orlando served in various leadership roles, including Office Manager/Coordinator of Radiology at St. Dominic Hospital. He also worked in Accounting at Tampa Bay Fisheries, as a Maintenance Dispatcher for Cyprexx Services, Senior Dispatch Coordinator for MaintainX, and as a Senior Business Coordinator at Connectwise in Tampa, FL.
Rudy was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, and friend. He was first united in marriage to Sonya Morgan, and to this union two beautiful children were born: Orlando J'Sean Pittman and Asia Tatyanna Nicole Pittman. Later in life, Rudy reunited with his high school sweetheart, Nichelle Redmond. Their love was rekindled and flourished into 17 years of marriage, deeply rooted in faith and love. Through this union, he gained and loved two more sons, Jeremy Singleton (Amanda) and Nicholas Singleton, and he proudly embraced his role as "Paw Paw" to his cherished granddaughter, Willow.
He leaves to treasure his memory: his loving and devoted wife, Nichelle "Nickki" Pittman; his four children: Orlando J'Sean Pittman, Asia Tatyianna Nicole Pittman, Jeremy Singleton (Amanda), and Nicholas Singleton; one granddaughter, Willow; his caring father and bonus Mom, Curtis and Phelisa Pittman; and five beloved siblings: Jacques D. Pittman (Kimberly), Rena E. King (Lavoris), Donzaleigh G. Export (Eddie), Curtis T. Pittman (Shanitha), and Curtis "BJ" Pittman. He is also survived by his devoted in-laws, Steve Redmon and JoEllen Porter (Doyle); his loving sisters-in-law, Jennifer Jasper (Shontrell) and Kimberly Barnes Thomas (Jimmie): and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws (Redmons), extended family members, church family, and dear friends.
Though Rudy's earthly journey has come to a close, his legacy will continue to inspire. His life was a song of faith, and every note he sang testified to the goodness of God.
