Pearlie Mae Allen's Obituary
Mother Pearlie Mae Cadney Allen was born on January 25, 1945, in the Harriston Community in Jefferson County, Mississippi, to the late Clyde and Mattie L. Cadney, Sr. Mother Allen was the seventh of eleven children. Mother Allen transitioned this life to her heavenly home on Friday, September 5, 2025, at the Madison County Nursing Home in Canton, Mississippi. Three brothers, George Smith, Lee Rumble, and Willie Smith; and two sisters, Maxine Knight, and Dorine Brantley preceded her in death; along with her aunts, Louise Thompson, Lillian Cadney and Leoner Pickett.
Mother Allen graduated from Liddell Jr. & Sr. High School in Fayette, Mississippi in 1963 and continued her education at Southern University and A&M College in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, where she received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Secondary Education in 1971. Her greatest passion was teaching adults to read and write.
In 1969, she married Charles R. Allen, and to this union one daughter was born, Nedra E. Allen. Mother Allen lived in several cities before planting her feet in Jackson, Mississippi. She worked with several agencies before retiring from the State of Mississippi.
Mother is a Breast Cancer survivor for more than 25 years praising God for her miraculous healing evidenced by her favorite scripture, Mark 11:23, where she spoke to that cancerous mountain in her life and continued to give all Praise to God!
Mother accepted Christ at early age. She was a dedicated and faithful servant of God. She worshipped and served God at Word of Truth Kingdom Church for almost 25 years under the leadership of Apostle Henry L. Hankins, Sr. She exemplified the heart for God with a loving, caring, giving and gentle spirit. She was a part of the Mothers of Zion and Sisters of Covenant Ministries where she served faithfully.
She leaves to cherish her memory: a husband, Charles R. Allen, Baker, Louisiana; one daughter, Nedra B. Allen, Jackson, Mississippi; five siblings: Mearl Williams, Jackson, Mississippi, Louise (Ray) Cadney-Coleman, Fayette, Mississippi, Clyde (Henrietta) Cadney, Jr., Fayette, Mississippi, Rudolph (Wanda) Cadney, Marietta, Georgia, and Wanzie Cadney, Mesquite, Texas. One sister-n-law, Deloris Smith, New Orleans, Louisiana. One aunt, Ellaween Henderson, Seattle, Washington. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and other relatives.
