Charles Eddie Irving's Obituary
Charles E. Irving, son of the late Lula Mae and Alfred Irving, was born on June 19, 1946, in Edwards, Mississippi. He was the eighth of thirteen children. He is survived by his siblings Earnestine Myles, Ida Ree Luckett, Alfred Irving, Jr., Arthur Irving, Paul Irving, Clyde Irving, and Reginald Irving, and preceded in death by William Irving, John Irving, Addue Louise Bradley, Vernita Irving, Felix Irving, and Robert Irving.
Charles peacefully departed this life on February 9, 2026. On July 17, 1971, Charles married Bobbie Jean McAdory in Thomastown, Mississippi, after meeting at Mississippi Valley State University. Their union was blessed with two children, August M. Irving and Youlanda R. Jones, and a loving marriage that spanned 54 years.
A graduate of Hinds County Agricultural High School and Mississippi Valley State University, Charles built a distinguished professional life rooted in entrepreneurship and real estate. As a business owner and realtor for more than 50 years, he became known for his deep knowledge of the housing market, his steady leadership, and his unwavering commitment to helping families find stability and opportunity. His clients trusted him because he treated every transaction with honesty, patience, and care. Through his work, he not only built a successful career but also strengthened the fabric of his community.
He also served his country honorably as a Military Police Officer in the United States Army, attaining the rank of Sergeant (E5) before his discharge in 1972.
Charles was a devoted member of Cade Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, faithfully serving as a Trustee, Deacon, and active member of the male choir and Laymen’s group. His generosity, warmth, and ability to make others feel valued were hallmarks of his life. He loved God, his family, cooking, golf, and staying on the move. His humor and gentle spirit left a lasting impression on everyone he met.
He leaves to cherish his loving memory his devoted wife, Bobbie M. Irving; his children, August M. Irving (Aloysius Williams) and Youlanda R. Irving‐Jones (Mirenzo Jones); his grandchildren, Akemi Smith (Kere Smith), Dontavius Patton, Gabriel Patton, Azora Jones, Jacob Patton, Alyese Jones, Alona Jones, Layla Williams, and Chancellor Williams; and his great‐grandchildren, Khaz Smith and Khyan Smith. He also leaves a host of extended family members, church family, and dear friends who will forever treasure his memory.
