James (AKA Teeny),my first cousin, was made known to me in my adolescence years. This happened primarily through our aunt Fannie Craft and other cousins. Teeny was 12 years old when I was born. By the time I learned he was my cousin he no longer lived in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. From Teeny’s bio, photography, and Facebook postings I witnessed his beautiful, loving, caring, giving, and Godly persona. I can honestly say we never visibly got closeup face to face or even embraced each other, but I got to know his heart. And I loved it! When our current President was elected a year ago I was beside myself at how incredulous this was so I felt compelled to post on Facebook. And I let it be known how heated I was with some raged and rant filled commentary! In one such post about these United States abdicating similarly like the people and government of Germany to Adolf Hitler, my gentle cousin Teeny responded and posted with sound factual truths! Oh my goodness Teeny affirmed that I wasn’t just making a molehill into a mountain! I never would have imagined Teeny responding and he did courageously, gently, and kindly. He along with a small minority of others spoke truth when I was so clueless as to why everyone else was not pulling their hair out about the dire status of our country. Another such time Teenie sent me a “Happy Birthday” greeting via Facebook messenger. And he added, “Aunt Maggie and Uncle Herbert were very happy and excited when you were born”. My mom was 41 years old and my dad was 47 years old when they had me; I was number 8, and the fifth girl born. We didn’t have pictures taken back then except for school and graduations; at least anyway in my family. I was the first in my family to go to kindergarten and to have a graduation photo taken in my cap and gown. So Teeny gave me a wonderful gift, an image per se of my parents joy to bring me into this world! These two interactions from Teeny were and are priceless; they both touched my heart in the sweetest and deepest way! I miss Teeny and his kind heart! Rest in Love and in Heaven Cousin Teeny. You were love, You were loved, And You continue to be Loved in Christ Jesus!🕊️💕🙏🏾

Thank you Uncle James for being there for me during my problem years. I look back now & see that a good amount of the things that you told all those years ago were true. Youth & impatience blinded me to that. We talked just a handful of times of the years since then. But those times we did talk. Helped to guide me through the situations that I was dealing with. You will be truly missed hear on earth. But now our family has another angel watching over us. Enjoy your rest from this plane of existence Uncle James. We will all miss you.
Thank you, big brother, for being my biggest encourager, praying for me, believing in me and giving me the name Sandra Faith.
You are deeply loved and missed but Heaven has a new addition. Enjoy your new home in Heaven.

Uncle James,
There are some people in life who leave footprints on our hearts forever — and you are one of them.
You weren’t just an uncle to me. You were a steady presence, a patient teacher, a quiet hero in the lives of my children. Sevion and Bryson will always carry the rhythm you placed in their hands when you taught them how to play the drums. You didn’t just teach them music — you taught them confidence, focus, and pride.
And Kyla — all of them — will forever have the gift of the senior portraits you took. You captured more than photographs. You captured milestones, personalities, and moments we will treasure for the rest of our lives.
You always made time. That’s what made you so special. In a busy world, you chose to slow down for my children. You showed up. You poured into them. You loved them.
Thank you for being the kind of uncle every family wishes for — supportive, talented, patient, and present. Your legacy lives on in every drumbeat, every framed photograph, and every memory we hold close.
We will miss you deeply, but we will carry you with us always.
With love,
Katrina
