Please accept my heartfelt condolences on the passing of our dear classmate and lifelong friend, Saundra Hopson Williams. Saundra has been a part of my life since the fourth grade, and her presence has always been marked by warmth, humor, and unwavering dedication.
As the secretary of the Rosa Scott High School Class of 1969, Saundra gave wholeheartedly to our class. She kept us informed, connected, and uplifted. Whether she was organizing reunions, sharing important updates, or ensuring each of us received our pink and green class pin with the motto “Less Than Our Best Is Failure,” she carried out every responsibility with pride and genuine care. She helped us honor our roots, celebrate our milestones, and maintain the strong bond that has kept our class close for so many decades.
Saundra’s kindness, commitment, and joyful spirit touched us all, and her absence leaves a void that cannot be filled. Yet her memory will remain with us—in the stories we tell, in the reunions she so lovingly coordinated, and in the lifelong friendships she helped sustain.
I am deeply grateful to have known her for so many years and to have shared in a class where we truly cared for one another—made stronger by Saundra’s steady leadership and generous heart. Tan and family, I pray you find comfort in knowing how dearly she was loved and how profoundly she will be missed.
