Saundra Marie Williams' Obituary
In the quiet of the morning, Saundra peacefully departed this world, leaving behind a legacy of love and cherished memories.
Ms. Saundra D. Williams, the fifth child of Elizabeth Hobson and Sam Jackson, Sr., was born October 1, 1949, in Madison County, Mississippi. Saundra departed this earthly life on November 19, 2025, at 1:27 am at St. Dominic Hospital.
Her walk with God started at a young age. She was baptized at Livingston M. B. Church under the leadership of Rev. Thomas E. Ray, Jr. Saundra later changed her membership to the Greater Antioch M. B. Church under the leadership of Rev. Clyde K. Tate, Jr., where she was a faithful member.
Saundra began her educational journey in Madison County Public School District at the Madison County Training School. Her other educational training was at Rosa Scott High School, where she was a member of the honor society, head drum major, class secretary, and a proud graduate of the Rosa Scott class of 1969. After high school, she continued her education, graduating from Jackson State University in June 1973 with a degree in Business Administration.
Her career started at what was formerly known as Jack Evans Manufacturing Plant (later changed to Parker Hannifin) on November 30, 1973, where she was a faithful employee for 51 years. Saundra started out as a machine operator and within 6 months was promoted to timekeeper. She stayed in that position for 2 years and was then promoted to the position of accounting and data processing. After holding that position for 10 months she was once again promoted to keypunch operator, where she held that position for 5 years. Once again she was promoted to personnel clerk. She maintained that position for 23 years. She was again promoted to HR representative and held that position for 5 years. Finally, she was promoted to HR administrator and maintained that position until retirement.
Saundra loved cooking, especially greens, frying fish, and chicken wings. She loved shopping and spending time with her daughter, whom she loved so much!
Saundra is preceded in death by her parents, Elizabeth Hobson and Sam Jackson, Sr. Two brothers, Cecil Hobson Herron and Tommy Hobson; three sisters, Oretta Davenport, Willie Bell Washington, and Rosie Alice Hobson. Three nieces, Wanda Denise Jackson, Charlotte Hobson Gray, and Carolyn Hobson; one nephew, Ray Charles Hobson; and, one great nephew, Randy Montrell Ball.
Saundra leaves her memories; her only daughter: Latangeriliar "Tan" Hobson; three sisters: Barbara J. Hobson, Ridgeland, Mississippi, Leola Mae Jackson and Bobbie Jackson of St. Paul, Minnesota; and one brother: Sylvester Jackson (Mildred) of Gluckstadt, Mississippi. Her memory will also be cherished by all her nieces and nephew and their descendants, and her two God sons, Kenneth Irving, Sr. and Judge Don Palmer.
